Somatic, Trauma-Informed Therapy for all Californians.
Reconnecting the individual, couples and loved ones.
At Rooted & Steady, I offer somatic, trauma-informed, culturally-responsive online therapy for adults and couples throughout California. My work is grounded in nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and deep respect for identity, culture, and lived experience — because trauma often lives in the body long after the story has been understood.
My approach to this work is shaped by over a decade inside California's correctional system, working directly alongside sheriffs, probation, parole, and the courts — experience I bring to how I support first responders carrying the weight of their profession, and justice-involved individuals and families rebuilding life after incarceration. I bring that same grounded, systems-aware approach to adults and couples navigating anxiety, relationship strain, and life transitions, and to Filipino and AAPI clients seeking bilingual, culturally-responsive care.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or unresolved trauma, therapy can be a space where change feels possible again. My approach is collaborative and paced to your story and your nervous system — not a script applied the same way to everyone.
Curious whether this is the right fit for your specific situation? [Click here to see the full list of who I work with as described on my Specialties page].
We'll explore how your lived experience — including your cultural background, family history, and the systems you've had to navigate — shapes the patterns that show up in your relationships and your body. Sometimes the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that feel hardest to change aren't a failure of insight; they're signals your nervous system hasn't yet had the chance to release.
The more clearly you understand both what's happening inside you and the systems around you, the more capacity you'll have to manage conflict, shift long-standing patterns, and build the relationships you want.
Still curious whether this kind of therapy is the right fit for your specific situation?
I support adults and couples across California who may be experiencing:
• Anxiety, overwhelm, or constant worry
• Relationship stress, conflict, or disconnection
• Life transitions, identity changes, or burnout
• Trauma, complex trauma, or emotional wounds
• Cultural stress, generational expectations, or immigration-related grief
• Loneliness, shame, or emotional numbness
I proudly offer Filipinx, AAPI, and BIPOC-affirming care in both Tagalog and English to honor language, culture, and emotional safety.
Individual Therapy for Adults
Individual therapy offers a private space to:
• Understand emotional patterns
• Reduce anxiety and overwhelm
• Process trauma or painful experiences
• Strengthen self-worth and boundaries
• Explore identity and cultural dynamics
• Build healthier coping tools
Sessions are personalized, judgment-free, and paced to your comfort level. You never have to share more than you’re ready for.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
Relationships can hold both deep connection and deep pain. I support couples, those in co-parenting relationships, and those wanting to build emotional closeness with their loved ones navigate:
• Communication breakdowns
• Trust issues
• Emotional distance
• Cultural or family-of-origin stress
• Life changes or transitions
• Rebuilding after rupture
Our trauma-responsive and body-centered work focuses on helping partners and every person in the relationship feel heard, regulated, and emotionally safe enough to reconnect.
Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety can show up as constant worry, panic, racing thoughts, tightness in the body, or fear that never fully quiets. Therapy helps by:
• Identifying nervous-system patterns
• Building regulation skills
• Reducing self-blame
• Increasing emotional safety
• Supporting long-term resilience
You don’t have to fight your anxiety alone.
Identity-Focused & Culturally Responsive Therapy
For many Filipinx, AAPI, and BIPOC clients, emotional distress is deeply connected to:
• Intergenerational trauma
• Cultural expectations
• Immigration stress
• Racialized experiences
• Code-switching or identity fatigue
Therapy here honors your full identity — cultural, emotional, relational, and historical.
What Makes My Therapy Approach Unique
• Trauma-responsive care
• Culturally humble practice
• Tagalog & English bilingual support
• Gentle, non-pathologizing approach
• Online therapy across California
